La Madrague — by Brigitte Bardot
La Madrague has a special resonance for me. A few years ago, I lived just next to Saint-Tropez, and I would often swim right in front of Bardot’s famous house, La Madrague. Each time, I couldn’t help but imagine catching a glimpse of her, as if the song and the place were still inseparably alive. Its gentle rhythm flows like the sea, carrying both the carefree spirit of summer and a touch of nostalgia for days that can never last forever.
Le Sud — by Nino Ferrer
Le Sud is a song that instantly brings summer to mind. While Ferrer sings of a simple, peaceful life in the South, for me it goes even further: it evokes Provence itself, with golden fields shimmering in the sun, the song of cicadas in the heat, and that feeling of endless afternoons where time seems to stand still. It’s a song I associate with warmth, nostalgia, and the timeless beauty of the South of France.
