Color Analysis & Perfume: How to Create Your Perfect Match
from a french fashion color expert
Whether you're dressing for a casual summer evening or a special occasion, the right mix of color and fragrance can create a wardrobe that is radiantly, unmistakably you.
We invited personal stylist and color expert, Hélène of Pimpante Paris to help us explore these invisible elements of personal style.
C'est Parti! Let's get started!

What if a signature style wasn't just about what we see, but also about the invisible energy we project?
As a personal stylist and color expert, my role is to help you decode your unique light so your choices reveal your natural glow. We call this your aura. Don't worry, it is not magic; it is optical science! Your aura is simply the natural color harmony that emanates from you. It is the specific way your skin undertone, eyes, and hair interact with light and colors.
Discovering your aura is the ultimate first step to building a harmonious wardrobe. It simplifies shopping, eliminates dressing room doubts, and ensures an instant “healthy glow”, even on days when you feel exhausted.
The at-home test: discover your aura
To find yours right now, I suggest a very simple experiment to try in front of your mirror. Without a touch of makeup, stand in natural daylight. Successively hold under your chin a pure white fabric (very bright, almost blue-toned), then a cream or ivory fabric. Watch closely what happens:
If the cream softens your features, blurs tiny shadows, and instantly gives you a healthy glow: your undertone is warm, you have a Solaire (solar) aura.
If the pure white awakens the sparkle in your eyes and evens out your skin tone, while the cream makes you look tired: your undertone is cool, you have a Lunaire (lunar) aura.
CONNECTING YOUR AURA TO FRAGRANCE
But this harmony doesn't stop at your clothes. There is an intuitive connection between the colors that illuminate your face and the fragrances that wrap around your silhouette. Just like your color palette creates your visible identity, your perfume creates a signature that extends beyond what can be seen. In French, we call this the sillage, the invisible trail a perfume leaves behind when you move, lingering in the air after you've passed by.
THE solaire AURA: radiant warmth
Your glow is solaire if your complexion instantly lights up against golden, warm, and rich nuances. By wearing natural materials like wild ecru linen or terracotta silk, you catch the light beautifully.
In perfumery, this warm energy is often expressed through rich notes like amber, vanilla, or woods that evoke comfort and depth.
Solaire
Your Poète sillage
To create a perfect match, you need a fragrance that is textured and vibrant. To wrap your silhouette in an irresistible, sun-kissed aura, a fragrance like Fleur Blanche or Nocturne by Poète will perfectly complement your radiant warmth.
THE LUNAIRE AURA: MAGNETIC FRESHNESS
Your glow is lunaire if crisp, cool, and clear reflections are what awaken the clarity of your face. Your best wardrobe allies are fluid fabrics in shades of ice blue, lilac, or powdery rose.
In perfumery, this magnetic freshness is often expressed through aquatic notes, airy florals, and fresh green accords that evoke lightness and transparency.
The art of the composition
Of course, just like the pattern of a scarf, a fragrance is rarely 100% warm or 100% cool. An entire printed pattern is a blend of different threads, but what matters most is the dominant impression it conveys. Perfume is the exact same. It is a beautiful, complex composition, and you should simply let yourself be guided by the overall feeling it gives you.
When your colors and your perfume align with your natural aura, everything falls into place. It’s that tiny, invisible detail that elevates your look and whispers your true story.
So, quelle aura se cache en vous ? Which aura is hidden inside you, ready to be revealed?
